This game IS possible to beat
In ways, I guess you can say this is my response to all the people that say this game is impossible. You see, I actually managed to conquer the world three times and I never spent a single dime, the reason is because there is a certain "game winning strategy."
You see, the new nations that you get dont effect the cards that you get for the card battles, meaning that if you just keep them content then youll be fine. So, its very important to make sure that your starting country has a lot of happy people from you making good decisions.
What I think a lot of people do is bite off more than they can chew. Lets face it, with limited funds its near impossible to keep every nation happy and turning in a profit. Not to mention the threat of other nations attacking. So, this is my strategy for winning.
At the start I focus a large amount of time on the starting territory you have. I make sure that I get people happy enough to give me money and have around 3-4 factions with over 10 reputation. Doing this will give you plenty of health and cards for the battles. Along with that I can not stress this enough... BUILD THE OIL DIEDRICH! Its extremely important that you do this at the start of the game and whenever you capture other territories as if you build a level 2 Diedrich it will be enough to cover the expenses for that nation. Not to mention that for new territories its wise to invest in a level 3 propaganda tower. This will counteract the 1 respiration that you lose from not doing any actions in a territory. Along with this, its not a bad idea to also get the senator for 10 turns as it will guarantee that you have a high reputation in that territory by the end of the ten turns you have him. With that being said, when you capture your first territory you should have around 3 million saved up just to do these improvements. Now rinse and repeat until you conquered the world.
I will admit that some of the more powerful nations have posed a threat to me before but, with the new scenarios its not a bad idea to try to complete them to get the extra cards that they give you as some of the cards that you dont have are a bit cheap. But, it is still very much possible to beat a strong nation with the starting deck.
The only issue with my strategy is that if a catastrophe happens in a country you need to spend more just to make sure everything goes well in the territory. Same with the epidemic, you need to be careful that the factions dont end up in the red.
I hope my tips help you aspiring dictators as it will be the key to victory. Also, make sure you vote for me in the next election... Im running for dictator of Tyrania.
